Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer with healthcare design focus sought to lead and execute design of mechanical systems (HVAC, hydronic) for inpatient hospital environments in the Charleston market. Responsibilities include planning/designing systems for critical spaces (operating rooms, MRI, treatment areas, pharmacies), developing/consolidating construction documents in REVIT, performing field evaluations and construction administration in Charleston, engaging directly with clients as a client-facing representative, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating with project stakeholders. Travel up to 20%. Preferred PE license and experience on large-scale healthcare projects. Salary range $100k-$150k with bonuses and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Approximately 12+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience designing mechanical systems for inpatient hospitals (beyond medical office buildings or outpatient facilities)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and hydronic system design for healthcare applications
- Ability to be located in or relocate to Charleston, SC to support in-person fieldwork and client meetings
- Proven ability to work directly with clients in a professional, independent manner
