Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton responsible for applying engineering skills to identify solutions for flight platforms, contributing to hardware design, interfacing with vendors and stakeholders to ensure mechanical requirements are met, and collaborating with systems and electrical engineers to complete design and technical analyses of ruggedized solutions. The role requires experience in aerospace/defense, familiarity with engineering documentation and GD&T, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience mechanical engineering within aerospace, defense, or related highly regulated industries
- Experience mapping and tracing system level and subsystem requirements to hardware and software
- Experience creating or reviewing inspection specifications, technical drawings, and engineering documentation
- Experience analyzing legacy system data, maintenance data, or engineering documentation to identify trends or support redesign
- Experience with finite element modeling, model verification standards, or structural analysis tools
- Knowledge of Air Force aircraft documentation such as TCTOs, system drawings, work card decks, and maintenance data systems
- Ability to reverse engineer complex mechanical assemblies, including analysis of materials, tolerances, interfaces, and functional intent
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
