Job Summary

Review technical drawings and mechanical specifications to ensure proper application of products within electro-mechanical assemblies. Support the design of mechanical components and sub-systems for power and low-voltage products, including component selection, general layouts, assembly design, and installation. Perform detailed design calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements and government standards. Create Bills of Materials, Change Notices, and technical manuals for operation and maintenance. Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing staff to meet project timelines and goals. Assist with prototype builds, production support, and service needs for aftermarket teams. This role supports the Design Engineering team in the renewable energy, microgrid, and data center markets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Internship or 6 months of work experience
  • 2 years of product design experience
  • Working knowledge in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo)
  • Design experience with structural enclosures, mechanical assemblies, HVAC systems, mechanical piping, firefighting systems, and power generation
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Experience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processes
  • Experience in mechanical components or equipment within the energy industry
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in the design and development of electrical components
  • PLC programming experience
  • Travel: 10-25%
  • Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background and drug test
