Job Summary

As a Mechanical Engineer (Facilities) at SpaceX, you will own and be the subject matter expert for fluid/HVAC components across campus, including compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, valves and dust collection systems. You will perform CAD modeling and design of these systems, conduct fluid analyses for pressure balance and component design, and determine consumables. You will work with interdisciplinary customers to ensure designs meet production, avionics, GNC, and mission operations requirements, ensure manufacturability and reliable transfer to manufacturing, and provide material selection, sizing and procurement support. The role involves design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing of fluids system elements, with opportunity to drive real global impact and contribute toward multi-planetary goals. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 1+ years of experience with fluids components; preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree and hands-on experience with fluid handling systems, data acquisition, HVAC, NX/CAD, GD&T per ASME Y14.5-1994, structural analysis, pressurized/aerospace structures, and independent work capability. ITAR compliance is required; compensation includes a range for Mechanical Engineer/Level I-II and comprehensive benefits. ITAR and equal opportunity employment statements are noted.
