Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer (f/m/x) at Marvel Fusion with responsibilities including designing, testing, and commissioning mechanical and mechatronics systems for experimental campaigns; supporting experiments at national and international laser facilities; working independently and in teams; creating and maintaining engineering documentation; contributing to overall experimental campaigns; interacting with external partners and scientists to design equipment and setups; 3D-design for manufacturing of radiation diagnostics instruments, optical setups, vacuum equipment; assembling and commissioning electro-mechanical components; maintaining digital twins of experimental setups; supporting the science team during experimental campaigns; requires a degree in engineering and minimum 2 years of relevant experience; travel and collaboration with international laser laboratories; fluency in English; Munich location with focus on in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in engineering, e.g., mechanical, aerospace, optical, nuclear, or related
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, commissioning in scientific facilities or in the aerospace, nuclear, laser, optics industry or similar
- Experience in applying EN 1090 or similar codes and standards
- Experience with INVENTOR / VAULT or similar CAD / PDM system
- Fluent in English
- Excellent communication skills and a structured working style
- Willingness to travel and spend time at international laser laboratories
