Job Summary
This role blends engineering and CNC programming to develop, optimize, and execute machining processes, ensuring parts are production-ready and scalable. You will support CNC programming (approx. 25%), contribute to toolpath strategy and program debugging, and collaborate with CNC programmers and machinists. Responsibilities include defining manufacturing processes, routing, and operation sequences for new parts, driving improvements in cycle time and first-pass yield, troubleshooting machining and process-related issues, and supporting continuous improvement across production planning and engineering teams. The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, engineer-led process development, ECO management, and delivering high-quality CNC programs and optimized machining strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or Associates degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
- 1-5 years of experience in precision machining or high-mix manufacturing environments (for Bachelor's) or 3-6 years (for Associates)
- Experience with CNC programming (CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Experience with 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, and machining processes
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and ability to work cross-functionally
