Job Summary
Execute product design specifications for motors, generators, and magnetic drives from proposal through field service. Develop design standards, manage project plans, and direct standardized models to reduce lead times and costs. Review customer specifications, provide technical advice, and visit sites to apply design technology. Supervise engineers and drafters while coordinating multiple tasks and managing team consensus. Requires BS in Mechanical Engineering with 2–3 years experience in motor/generator design and proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS. Full-time role with domestic and international travel; salary $70k–$80k.
Required Qualifications
- BS Mechanical Engineering degree
- Minimum of 2 – 3+ years' experience in the design or development of large motors and/or generators, or equal level of product complexity
- Proficient with SolidWorks
- Proficient with AutoCAD
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Strong design background involving mechanical structural analysis
- Strong design background involving thermal analysis using both conventional and computerized (ANSYS and CFX) mechanical design analysis methods
- Demonstrated ability to understand, evaluate, and solve complex issues of technical content with guidance and technical support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adhere to a work schedule that may require travel, including domestic and international travel
- Physical ability to travel freely within manufacturing and office facilities
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds unassisted
