Job Summary

Design and layout HVAC air and hydronic systems, perform engineering calculations, and develop equipment schedules using REVIT and AutoCAD. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, architects, and clients to integrate mechanical systems, conduct site visits, and review engineering deliverables for code compliance. Assist in project cost estimation, specification writing, and business development activities including proposal creation. Lead junior engineers and contribute to the development of comprehensive design packages for various infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Texas Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 4 years of experience in HVAC air and hydronic concepts
  • Capability to perform routine calculations, equipment layout, and basic equipment under supervision
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree
  • Texas Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain within one year of employment
  • Progress toward obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience managing projects and clients
  • Experience in Trane Trace 700 or Carrier HAP
  • Revit (BIM) and AutoCAD production experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, codes, and standards
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) software
  • Working knowledge of IMC and ASHRAE 90.1
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems design
  • Familiarity with energy modeling and sustainability practices in mechanical engineering
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Progress toward obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
  • Experience managing projects and clients is a plus
