Job Summary
Provide professional mechanical engineering support for the planning, design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of Government facilities. Prepare and review mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation. Support the development of mechanical system designs and coordinate with architects, engineers, project managers, and Government stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution. Review engineering documents to ensure compliance with applicable project requirements, engineering standards, and building codes. Provide technical recommendations and engineering support during planning, design, construction, and project close-out activities. Primary work location is NSA Naples (Capodichino), Italy, with frequent Temporary Duty travel to NSA Bahrain, including Isa Air Base. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional mechanical engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and engineering design practices
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Primary work location is NSA Naples (Capodichino), Italy (PSC 817 Box 51, FPO, AE 09622-0051)
- Frequent Temporary Duty (TDY) travel to NSA Bahrain, Kingdom of Bahrain, including NSA 1, NSA 2, NSA 3, and Isa Air Base
- TDY travel may consist of up to ten (10) trips, each lasting approximately ten (10) days, during each performance period
- Must be capable of performing physical activities such as prolonged walking, standing, climbing, crouching, and bending
- Must be capable of performing work in austere environments due to damaged facilities
