Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer/Designer is responsible for designing HVAC systems for various building types including multi-family, data centers, commercial interiors, retail/mixed-use spaces, and institutional facilities. Key responsibilities include producing mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit, performing field investigations, coordinating quality control and scheduling, and facilitating communication across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering and have over 5 years of experience in HVAC design and construction. Strong technical skills in duct and piping design, load calculations, and knowledge of relevant building codes are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and construction
- solid understanding of duct design, piping design, air handlers, heat pump, and boiler systems
- experience with performing load calculations, equipment selection and design, wet and dry side system design
- knowledge of IBC, IMC and IECC codes, DDC controls, HAP or Energy Pro
