Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer Data Center Design role focusing on designing commercial HVAC systems for data center cooling, including load calculations, ductwork/piping sizing, equipment selection, energy modeling, and involvement in conceptual designs, commissioning, and RFP responses. Will participate in client meetings, represent the firm in projects, and collaborate with Business Development. Requires 5-10 years of data center cooling design experience, a mechanical engineering degree, and MS Office proficiency; PE/EIT and LEED credentials are a plus. Remote work option stated in title; located in New York, NY area for this posting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- 5-10 years experience designing data center cooling systems
- PE or EIT a plus
- LEED a plus
- Experience with Mechanical Systems (HVAC , CFD, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC / CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc.)
- Equipment sizing and calculations
- Experience reviewing work in REVIT; Trane Trace or IES VE Energy Modeling software a plus
- Familiar with the design process of building systems for mission critical projects or healthcare / hospital required
- Effective Communicator – emails, phone and face to face
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project
