Job Summary
Lead HVAC design concepts, conduct site assessments, and perform building engineering analysis to produce engineering reports. Provide quality control reviews of mechanical designs and deliver constructive technical feedback to ensure code compliance. Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge by reviewing, stamping, and signing construction documents while mentoring a team of engineers and drafters. Identify energy conservation measures and recommend implementation costs to optimize system performance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality construction documents using Revit MEP and BIM environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in consulting HVAC engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain licensure
- Proficient in Revit MEP for mechanical design and coordination
- Ability to design complex HVAC systems, including VAV, DOAS, VRF, data room cooling, and packaged rooftop systems, as well as chilled water and hydronic heating systems, including pipe, pump, duct, and fan sizing and selection
- Advanced knowledge of heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation, and mechanical building codes
- Ability to lead and collaborate with a team of engineers and drafters to produce construction documents
- Proficient in writing mechanical specifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience producing 3D coordinated mechanical models in a multidisciplinary BIM environment
- Skilled in HVAC load modeling software, such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Bluebeam, Revit MEP, and relevant HVAC design software
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems, including domestic hot and cold water and waste and vent systems
- Advanced understanding of digital temperature control systems and sequences of operation
