Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical engineering analysis and support services for industrial operations and manufacturing at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD. Responsibilities include reviewing facility designs and drawings for energetic requirements, evaluating step-by-step processes and hazards, designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and machinery, conducting product testing and prototyping, overseeing fabrication, installation, and repair, and providing leadership as an advisory role on complex projects. Preferred explosives operations and the ability to obtain a Secret or Interim Secret clearance. Must hold a BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent, with independent work increasingly emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in mechanical engineering
- Ability to obtain Secret or Interim Secret security clearance
- Experience in developing system descriptions and developing Technical Data Packages
- Experience in industrial operations and manufacturing
