Job Summary
Lead mechanical engineering on large-scale projects, acting as technical lead to guide engineers, technicians, and contractors while managing smaller projects ranging from $50k to $250k. Develop and execute implementation plans, assign work to meet deadlines, and create schedules for W-M and customer requirements. Perform stress, fatigue, and reliability calculations for system design, including acceleration forces and load analysis. Design fully integrated mechanical assembly systems using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, document configurations, and manage purchasing and subcontractor requirements. Must be open to travel up to 35%. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of hands-on experience with system integration in entertainment or manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years hands on experience
- An in-depth understanding of mechanical systems, components, stress analysis, acceleration forces, and knowledge of amusement ride safety standards (ASTM Standards)
- Can demonstrate they ran a project from start to finish
- Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Must be open to travel up to 35%
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
- Experience working on system integration projects for clients in industries such as entertainment and manufacturing
- Ability to perform system analysis/calculations including: Stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, tolerance studies
- Knowledge of ride system design requirements for attractions involving guest accelerations, reach envelope, ingress/egress, weight, and emergency evacuation analysis and implementation upon control system failure in worst-case scenarios
