Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing data-center cooling system concepts and executing multidisciplinary mechanical design for complex facilities. Responsibilities include creating concepts from client meetings, providing designs and plans with gathered specifications, overseeing commissioning as needed, supporting responses to RFPs with the Business Development team, and representing the company in project meetings. Candidate should have experience designing commercial HVAC systems for mission-critical data centers, including load calculations, ductwork and piping sizing, equipment selection, energy modeling, and related engineering calculations. Preferred credentials include PE or EIT and LEED; bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; proficiency with REVIT and energy modeling tools (Trane Trace, IES VE). Comfortable working independently in a consulting/engineering design environment and communicating effectively with teammates and clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- 5-10 years experience designing data center cooling systems
- PE or EIT a plus
- LEED a plus
- Experience with Mechanical Systems (HVAC, CFD, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC/CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc.)
- Equipment sizing and calculations
- Experience reviewing work in REVIT; Trane Trace or IES VE Energy Modeling software a plus
- Familiar with the design process of building systems for mission critical projects or healthcare/hospital required
- Effective Communicator – emails, phone and face to face.
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- 5-10 years experience designing data center cooling systems
