Job Summary
Execute mechanical engineering deliverables including calculations, equipment selection, and data sheet preparation for mining and heavy industrial projects. Check and seal drawing packages, review technical reports, and coordinate cross-disciplinary efforts for design and inspection. Troubleshoot mechanical systems at operating sites and support cost estimating through proposal scope reviews. Present project designs and progress updates to clients while managing multiple ongoing projects with a willingness to travel for site visits.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian university
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada
- 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer on Mining & Mineral processing, Heavy Industrial Projects
- Familiar with greenfield and brownfield mining projects
- Knowledge of ASME and CSA codes, industry standards, and regulations
- Experienced with selection and sizing for rotating equipment, pump boxes and chutes, conveyors, HVAC, and Fire protection
- Ability to present project deliverables and concepts to clients
- Excellent organizational, technical, and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel for site visits as required
