Job Summary
Design and develop mission-critical flight hardware including composite tanks, separation mechanisms, and actuators through CAD modeling, analysis, and integration with technicians. Contribute to four-week subsystem prototype cycles by participating in design reviews, integrating test feedback, and driving continuous improvement based on real-world data. Work closely with leads to build notes, write travelers, and maintain quality documentation while resolving minor development issues autonomously. Proactively communicate blockers and manage stakeholder relationships with regulators, suppliers, and customers to prevent hardware blockers. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in SolidWorks or NX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ years of professional ME experience
- CAD design of mechanical components (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, or similar)
- understanding of statics, dynamics, and thermal principles
- U.S. citizen or national
- U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
- Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157
- Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
- eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
