Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and documentation of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical power, lighting, fire protection, and plumbing for commercial and residential projects. Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment selection while ensuring all designs comply with local, state, and national building codes. Develop detailed drawings using Revit and AutoCAD, collaborate with architects and contractors to resolve design conflicts, and oversee coordination between disciplines. Conduct design reviews, perform quality checks, and provide technical oversight to ensure accuracy. Assist with peer reviews, review RFIs and shop drawings, and support construction administration through site visits and punch list development. Serve as the technical point of contact for clients and mentor junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 5+ years of experience in MEP design for commercial and residential buildings in an A&E firm setting
- Proficiency in MEP design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and energy analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, NFPA)
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
