Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer with 1–3 years of mechanical design experience, proficient in SolidWorks, and familiar with design for manufacturability concepts. Will assist in designing and producing components, assemblies, and systems, produce detailed drawings and BOMs, manage design data in PDM/3DEXPERIENCE, and support prototyping and production activities under senior engineer guidance. Requires collaborative mindset, strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work across internal teams and with external vendors to meet project milestones. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and 3D printing is desired; experience with cross-functional teams and project-management tools is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design (internship or co-op experience considered)
- Working familiarity with SolidWorks
- Exposure to PDM/3DEXPERIENCE or similar data management systems a plus
- Foundational understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and 3D printing
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to produce formal documentation and technical drawings
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to ask questions and collaborate across engineering and product teams
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines with support in a fast-paced environment
- Some exposure to prototyping, product testing, or production support
