Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer, Air Vehicles responsible for developing and integrating hardware on unmanned air vehicles from concept to real-world use. Lead design reviews, run analyses, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans, build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production. Travel to test sites as needed and support critical hardware demonstrations with customers. Requires strong use of engineering first principles, experience with CAD (NX/Teamcenter preferred), and collaboration across mechanical and electrical subsystems. Must hold a BS or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering and be eligible for an active U.S. Secret security clearance. Salary range: $129,000–$171,000 USD with additional benefits, including equity and comprehensive full-time benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years mechanical engineering experience in advanced air vehicles programs
- Experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems into advanced air vehicles
- Experience designing mechanical parts (CAD)
- Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, composite lamination)
- Proficiency with first principles physics
- BS or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
