Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer for AECOM's Water business, based anywhere in the United States, focusing on designing, developing, and overseeing large-scale mechanical systems for water infrastructure. Responsibilities include creating 3D models using Autodesk Inventor/Revit, sizing hoists and actuators, performing engineering calculations to ensure structural integrity and mechanical performance, reviewing drawings and vendor submittals, collaborating with Civil/Structural/Electrical engineers, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements, preparing technical reports and specifications, supporting proposal development, and traveling occasionally for site visits and meetings with clients. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited), 6+ years of experience, and Professional Engineer licensure in the US or ability to obtain licensure within two years. Relocation and sponsorship are not available. The role supports in-person onboarding at an AECOM office and may involve working in a hybrid/remote environment within the US with occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering university program
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Professional Engineering licensure in the United States or ability to obtain licensure within two years
