Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer needed to join AECOM's Dublin team to design and deliver mechanical building services (HVAC, water services, drainage, public health, and low-carbon energy solutions) across commercial, healthcare, education, residential, industrial, and public infrastructure sectors. Responsibilities include preparing calculations and specifications, developing designs using BIM/Revit, coordinating with electrical/structural disciplines, attending client and site meetings, ensuring compliance with regulations and sustainability targets, mentoring graduates, delivering projects on time and within budget, and supporting sustainable building services strategies. Requires degree in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering, experience in building services consultancy, knowledge of Irish/UK regulations, Revit proficiency, strong communication, and chartered-engineer–level commitment.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working within a building services consultancy environment, delivering mechanical design solutions across a range of sectors
- Knowledge of Irish and UK building regulations, standards, and mechanical building services design practices
- Proficiency in industry-standard mechanical design software and BIM platforms, including Revit
- Understanding of HVAC, public health, low-carbon, and sustainable building services systems
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and client-facing skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering practical and innovative engineering solutions
- Commitment to professional development and working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (Engineers Ireland, CIBSE, or equivalent)
