Job Summary
Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, domestic water, drainage, and low-carbon energy solutions while preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and design documentation. Develop designs using industry-standard software and BIM platforms, assisting in project delivery from concept through handover. Coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines, attend client and site meetings, and ensure compliance with regulations and sustainability targets. Mentor junior engineers and deliver work to agreed quality standards and project programmes.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working within a building services consultancy environment, delivering mechanical design solutions across a range of sectors
- Knowledge of Irish and UK building regulations, standards, and mechanical building services design practices
- Proficiency in industry-standard mechanical design software and BIM platforms, including Revit
- Understanding of HVAC, public health, low-carbon, and sustainable building services systems
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and client-facing skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering practical and innovative engineering solutions
- Commitment to professional development and working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (Engineers Ireland, CIBSE, or equivalent)
