Job Summary
Perform design and stress analyses of pressure vessels, reactor vessel internals, and primary equipment supports in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III and applicable regulatory requirements. Document evaluations of components for pressure, mechanical/thermal loadings, primary stress, secondary stress intensity range, and fatigue to optimize component design. Utilize ANSYS finite element software and CAD packages while interpreting project scope and requirements. Coordinate with co-workers and other disciplines to resolve technical problems within multi-disciplinary teams. Adhere to ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university
- A professional engineer (P.E.) certification
- Minimum of 6 years of full-time relevant working experience
- Experience utilizing ANSYS to perform stress analysis in accordance with Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Subsections NB, NG, and/or NF
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers
- Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment
- Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation
- Must be available for remote work within the contiguous United States
- Travel as required for business needs
