Job Summary

Design, modify, and analyze mechanical systems for power plant and oil & gas engineering projects, including sizing equipment, piping, and valves. Prepare technical specifications, bid reviews, studies, and reports while generating P&ID drawings, equipment lists, and isometric piping plans. Coordinate with system designers to develop physical design deliverables and conduct field verification at client and vendor sites. Work within project teams to support client recommendations and ensure project execution excellence. This hybrid role requires three days in-office and involves applying thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics principles to solve engineering problems using modern tools and automation.

Required Qualifications

  • BSME from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
  • Strong academic background with interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
  • Three years of experience in Mechanical Engineering ideally within Power Plant and/or Oil and Gas midstream industry
  • Experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of the practical application of mechanical engineering and technology including applying systems, principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to a project design
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, fabrication drawings, and models
  • Strong interest in numerical computations with ability to analyze, define, and solve technical problems
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workflow, multitask, meet deadlines, and remain flexible
  • Customer service oriented; passionate towards customer satisfaction and project execution excellence
  • Willing or able to solve problems using modern tools such as automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs
  • Take engineering problems from issue to solution using data and modern tools such as automation and AI
  • Strong engineering judgment and verification of results when using automation or agentic AI tools
  • Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation
  • Additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems

Desired Qualifications

  • MSME from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and designation as an Engineer in Training
  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Mechanical Engineering calculations
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Equipment and Piping systems
