Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer for Collins Aerospace Seating Group in Winston-Salem, NC. Performs product development activities including engineering studies, feasibility studies, cost estimates, layout interpretation, and development of parts and assemblies for complex programs with weight, manufacturability, and servicing considerations. Follows design, safety, and qualification standards; analyzes test results; resolves design issues; develops and presents design proposals with sketches, layouts, and BOMs; gains familiarity with lightweight aircraft seat structures and FAA/EASA requirements; may participate in certification activities and learn to apply aerospace design standards. The role is onsite with potential relocation eligibility and contributes to optimizing product design and reducing design errors while supporting multiple projects. Education and hands-on ME experience, CAD proficiency, and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to work onsite in Winston-Salem, NC
- Experience with 3D CAD and Microsoft Office (preferred)
- Mechanical Engineering background or related project/work experience
