Job Summary
The MEP Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction activities to ensure compliance with approved construction documents and quality standards. This position involves verifying the proper installation of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and requires a high school diploma and 5 to 10 years of experience in MEP inspection. Preferred qualifications include an associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with certifications such as ICC Inspector or NICET. Strong knowledge of inspection procedures and the ability to read construction drawings are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience performing MEP inspection or construction inspection on commercial, infrastructure, or transportation projects
- Demonstrated experience inspecting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems including HVAC equipment, electrical distribution systems, fire life safety systems, and plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, system diagrams, and project specifications
- Strong knowledge of construction inspection procedures, quality assurance practices, and industry codes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate with contractors and project teams
Desired Qualifications
- Certifications such as ICC Inspector, NICET, OSHA 30, or related inspection credentials
- Experience supporting aviation, transportation, or large capital infrastructure programs
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, and local building codes
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, Prolog, or similar platforms
