Job Summary
Coordinate with the Project Manager on technical relations with the customer to optimize design, cost savings, and contract compliance. Plan engineering activities, ensure information flow across disciplines, and participate in project setup. Tackle design problems with clients and partners by compiling and generating design drawings while controlling technical specifications and bills of materials. Cooperate in supplier selection and qualification, participate in commissioning, and support commercial opportunity analysis. Examine risk aspects with the risk committee, negotiate with prospects, and follow clients to maintain relationships. Study and define technical offers with technical departments, review contract drawings, and ensure specifications are met. Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 1–3 years of experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and project management knowledge. Full-time role in Coraopolis, PA, with salary of $80,000–$95,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience
- Understand the cost of design (including the cost of deliverables generation) and the ability to estimate costs related to a project or specific activity
- Applications and improvements of technical knowledge into design criteria that suit the project requisition
- Knowledge of engineering models and/or drafting environment, including applications and products across the disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.)
- Understanding of engineering interfaces in terms of dependencies among disciplines
- Familiarity and ability to use specific AutoDesk CAD software, in particular AutoCAD
- Basic knowledge of project management methods and knowledge of all project lifecycle phases
- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work
- availability to travel on the client site as needed
