Job Summary
Create CAD solid models and drawings from detailed drawings, CT scans, and point cloud data for legacy components. Revise existing designs to reflect changes and review blueprints for service requests. Maintain design control documentation in the PLM System, including notes, calculations, and bills of materials. Collaborate with engineers to detect discrepancies, establish CAD best practices, and train new personnel on drafting standards. Check drawings made by other staff and recommend process improvements for work instructions and ECO/CO workflows. Manage the CAD database and PDM systems while adhering to ASME Y14.5 standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience
- Proficient in SolidWorks software
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 2018, Y14.1 2020, Y14.2 2014, and Y14.3 2012
- Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written
- Skilled in PC usage and associated software, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledgeable of standard drafting best practices and procedures
- Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule, and manage time
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with point cloud data and manipulation preferred
- Ideally has worked within SolidWorks Project Data Management (PDM) system in the past
- General knowledge of manufacturing technologies: milling, drilling, turning, EDM, deburring, welding, broaching, stamping, extrusion, injection molding, etc
- General knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies and materials: FDM, SLS, SLA, Polyjet, etc
