Job Summary
Create and maintain fabrication drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) for mechanical systems and components within power generation platforms. Support engineers in developing system layouts, enclosure designs, and integrating mechanical and electrical subsystems for Battery Energy Storage Systems, Hydrogen Fuel Cells, and Natural Gas Engines. Perform tolerance stack-up and fit checks to ensure design manufacturability, while managing CAD file organization and drawing revisions per company standards. Assist in preparing installation and service documentation for field teams and collaborate with fabrication teams to align design intent with final products. Requires 2+ years of experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, and a strong understanding of welding and machining practices.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical drafting/design, preferably in industrial systems or power generation
- Proficient or some experience in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Familiarity with fabrication practices including welding, sheet metal design, and machining
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organization; capable of managing multiple design packages concurrently
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
