Job Summary
Develop mechanical physical layout drawings in 3-D models by designing mechanical systems, troubleshooting design issues, and generating schematics. Coordinate detailed design phases for integrated mechanical models, including general arrangements, piping isometrics, and equipment location drawings. Provide support to project teams and mentor less experienced drafters while assisting senior engineers in field walkdowns and data gathering. Work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure complete and timely design deliverables. Spend three days a week in the office with a hybrid arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience
- Knowledge of detailed physical design in the development of mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports
- Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models
- Experience in the review of mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points, and coordinating and developing the associated deliverables
- Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related degree
- Proficiency with MicroStation
