Job Summary
Lead the design and specification of HVAC, central utility plant, and thermal distribution systems while providing technical oversight to junior engineers and designers. Manage project scope, fee development, labor scheduling, and task assignments for the mechanical team, ensuring QAQC of all deliverables and addressing owner, permit, and construction comments. Represent Dewberry in client meetings with owners, contractors, and AHJs, coordinate with outside consultants, and assist in recruiting and developing mechanical staff. Organize departmental schedules and annual evaluations to meet business and project financial goals.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Significant technical experience in one or more of the following: HVAC system design, central utility plant design, thermal distribution system design (chilled water, steam, heating hot water, etc.), control system design and commissioning.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience across the full project life cycle is a plus, including marketing assistance, project scoping, design, construction support, commissioning and project closeout.
- Experience should include technical oversight of multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience overseeing direct reports is desirable.
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
