Job Summary
Design, develop, and rapid prototype mechanical components and subsystems for RF coil development in MR systems. Support design for reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost while coordinating with external vendors for prototypes, pre-production, and ECOs. Prepare and review mechanical documents for product development and program release. Work efficiently with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, quality assurance, regulatory, and manufacturing. Provide technical support to the engineering team as needed. This role requires SolidWorks proficiency and familiarity with rapid prototyping and injection molding processes.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field
- One year of experience working in a professional environment or a minimum of two substantive professional internships, co-op or university lab experience
- Knowledge of rapid prototyping processes as well as injection molding processes
- Understanding of RF coil hardware and electro-mechanical design
- Proficient with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Basic understanding of FMEA
- Demonstrated ability for design plastic and metal components
- Ability to design, build and troubleshoot her/his own work
- Proficient in MS Office software, Outlook and the Internet
- Clear written and interpersonal communication skills
- Quick learner with strong multi-tasking skills
- Team player
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping processes and injection molding process
- Electromechanical design experience
- Prefer experience in Medical Equipment Industry and RF coil development
- FEA analysis expert knowledge using CosmosWorks or similar software
- Industrial experience
- One or two prior years' experience in medical device design
- Understanding development process for medical devices
- Understanding IEC testing for medical devices
- Working knowledge and support of Quality Management System deliverables in a medical device environment
