Mechanical Designer

Apply mechanical design knowledge to the design development and production of Wagstaff casting equipment. Create design documents for equipment production according to documented procedures and release them to Manufacturing. Update and revise mechanical drawings per instructions from design reviews, redlines, and NPR tags. Become proficient at estimating hours to complete design tasks and meeting goals with respect to planned hours and production schedule. Interfacing with Purchasing, Demand Management, and shop floor personnel as required to effectively design and support the manufacturer of equipment. Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly. Train other team members in support of basic departmental processes and equipment design methods. Work primarily in an adequately lit, well ventilated, climate controlled general office environment with occasional interaction on the manufacturing shop floor. Work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required.
