Job Summary
Conduct detailed CAD design for space hardware and ground support equipment, generating fabrication and assembly drawings with precise tolerancing. Collaborate with engineering teams to meet schedule, cost, and design requirements while utilizing analytical formulas and geometric dimensioning skills. Maintain U.S. citizenship and obtain a government security clearance to support advanced satellite and sensor systems for national security missions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 10+ years of professional experience with 3D Solid Modeling Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
- Applied math skills and ability to use analytical formulas
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 10+ years of experience with NX CAD software using Teamcenter PLM
- Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and system level tolerance analysis
- Experience designing space structures, optical elements, bonded structures, or composite structures for cryogenic/vacuum environments
- Experience with cable harness routing
- Knowledge of manufacturing processing, fixturing, and tooling
- Familiarity with surface treatments and finishes
- Experience with part inspection
