Job Summary
Build product designs and comprehensive documentation for new and existing products, ensuring flawless execution of layouts, 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and essential documents for manufacturing. Independently develop detailed product layouts using advanced 3D CAD systems and guide component fabrication for prototypes and pilot builds. Perform tolerance stack analysis on complex assemblies before documentation release and initiate Engineering Change Orders while conducting research to verify specifications. Provide technical expertise in SolidWorks and Enovia, assess incoming engineering work, and delegate tasks to Designer Associates as necessary. Manage both small-scale and portions of large-scale projects with minimal supervision while participating in Lean activities to improve efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- A two-year technical degree in drafting or building
- Ideally 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting/build
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in Product Data Management, ECO, and Product Development Processes
- Experience in mechanical design and managing the fabrication of components and assemblies
- Experience with Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Enovia, Oracle, and JD Edwards
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Ability to independently identify and define materials and information needed for projects
- Capability to assemble engineered build packages
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
