Job Summary

Design fusion technology components using 3D CAD software and create 2D drawings for fabrication. Collaborate with senior engineers and physicists to develop assemblies while supporting mechanical assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of cryogenic systems. Apply GD&T and AWS notation standards for engineering drawings in projects involving vacuum, cryogenics, and high pressure. Requires US citizenship, DOE Q clearance, and significant Creo experience. Onsite in Oak Ridge, TN.

Required Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and American Welding Society (AWS) notation in engineering drawings
  • Significant experience with one or more CAD programs such as Creo (formerly Pro/Engineer), SolidWorks or Catia
  • Significant experience in Creo (Pro/Engineer) and an associated PDM (Windchill)
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes and design for manufacturability
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently or in a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
  • Associate's degree with 5-6 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with 7-8 years relevant experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the design of components related to vacuum or cryogenic systems
  • Experience in hands-on troubleshooting, assembly, and disassembly of mechanical systems
