Job Summary
Draft Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams using SmartPlant P&ID based on design engineer direction. Create mechanical sketches, layouts, and detail drawings while developing deliverables in accordance with industry codes, contract requirements, and company standards. Navigate 3D models to check for interferences and constructability, coordinating with internal and external design partners, equipment suppliers, and other engineers to review work progress. Take on complex tasks as directed by the Lead Designer. This role supports the Industrial and Water Engineering Group's EPC and design-build delivery across markets including mining, process industries, and water treatment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology or related field
- Knowledge of design software such as SmartPlant, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Inventor, or SolidWorks
- Proficient in basic computing programs including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- 0 - 2 years of industry-related design experience
- Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
- Perform work safely and effectively
- Work during normal operating hours
- Work overtime and weekends as required
- Must be able to navigate 3D models and check for interferences and constructability
