Job Summary

Mechanical Designer IV - Pipe responsible for 2D and 3D drawing development, checking drawings by CAD Drafters and Designers, and collaborating with Production Management and cross-functional teams including customer representatives and equipment manufacturers. Requires 3D modeling proficiency (8+ years), experience in shipyard design or production (10+ years preferred), familiarity with AutoCAD and ShipConstructor, ability to model in 3D and create orthographic views from isometric drawings, interface with multi-discipline models via XREF, and communicate effectively to meet tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on vessel design domains (equipment, electrical fitout, foundations, hull, HVAC, material pipe, product hierarchy) and the ability to lead CAD Drafters when necessary, train staff, and set work schedules. Must meet U.S. employment eligibility, pass drug/background checks, and work in a safety-conscious environment.”,

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 8 years minimum of 3D modeling experience
  • 10 years of shipyard design or production/construction experience or equivalent experience
  • Experience with 2D and 3D AutoCAD
  • Basic draw and modify commands
  • Ability to interpret system schematics and electrical diagrams to create 3D CAD models
  • Able to interface with models from other disciplines using XREF
