Job Summary
Create engine and outboard component models and drawings using PTC Creo to support new programs and product improvements. Develop solid modeling parts, assemblies, and working drawings with applicable Mercury specifications and GD&T to ensure proper form, fit, and function. Conceptualize mechanical solutions for injection molded plastics, sheet metal, and casting/machining parts while communicating with cross-functional teams to resolve interfaces. Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and work with internal model makers to create prototypes and test fixtures. Execute drawing releases, quote submissions, and shop build orders for prototype parts. This role is hybrid with at least three onsite days per week in Fond du Lac, WI.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Design
- 2+ years of related experience
- Experience with PTC Creo solid modeling and drawing creation
- Knowledge and application of GD&T
Desired Qualifications
- 4+ years experience in detailed mechanical component design
- Experience with marine propulsion systems or boating in general
- Experience with machining, fabrication, or other hands on mechanical work
- Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter PLM software
