Job Summary
Mechanical Design Systems Engineer at Chart Beasley, TX. Lead the design engineering functions for Reciprocating Compressors Packages (Piston and Diaphragm), from concept to production drawings and BOMs. Create 3D models, General Arrangements, P&IDs, and release packages for manufacturing; perform engineering analyses (strength of materials, statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, vibrations, sound); select materials and ensure compliance with industry specs; develop engineering schedules; provide design support to sales, supply chain, and product development; review sub-supplier drawings to ensure integration and project specification compliance; coordinate with Project Manager, other engineering teams, customers, and manufacturing to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery; support aftermarket and field services; drive process improvements and KPI achievement; represent the company with customers and partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in air/gas handling, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong understanding of engineering calculations, drawings, and bills of material
- Familiarity with industry standards (ANSI, ASME, ASTM, API, MIL, SAE)
- Proficient in engineering software (Creo, ANSYS, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of heavy industrial fabrication, welding standards, and mechanical systems (lubrication, cooling, gas lines)
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently
Desired Qualifications
