Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary
Design plant layout, bespoke systems, and equipment from proposal to commissioning, producing detailed 3D models, 2D sketches, manufacturing drawings, P&ID schematics, and material lists. Collaborate with electrical and process control disciplines to ensure quality, safety, and cost efficiency while managing contracts to meet delivery dates and budgets. Liaise with suppliers to integrate third-party equipment and conduct occasional site surveys. Work remotely across UK hours from 9 am to 5 pm, supporting a consultancy firm specializing in bulk materials handling and structural steelwork design for clients ranging from blue-chip companies to local fabricators.
