Job Summary
Design and deliver next generation networking systems (modular and fixed chassis) and cards that meet customer requirements; develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast that meet EMI, safety and compliance requirements; develop 3D CAD models using Creo or NX; create detailed drawings applying GD&T; perform detailed 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies; collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design issues and develop mitigation plans; exchange PCB design IDF files with ECAD/hardware teams and address placement and mechanical integrity concerns; host peer and cross-functional design reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures
- Experience with 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX)
- Experience with sheet metal design for mid to high volumes
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast tooling
