Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer needed to create mechanical 3D models and drawings for the assigned product line using SolidWorks, detailing product features, dimensions, and materials of construction. Produce production-ready designs and ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and aligned with customer requirements and company procedures. Deliver drawings and models per customer and department schedules, contribute innovative ideas, and utilize Solid Modeling, PDM, and ERP software while pursuing ongoing skills development. Analyze customer, mechanical, structural, and regulatory requirements to develop practical design solutions and translate verbal/written information into 2D drawings for manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience OR associate's degree in mechanical design or related field with 8+ years of experience
- Experience designing with SolidWorks
- Proficiency with Product Data Management and ERP software
- Solid understanding of developing mechanical designs and drawings with product details, dimensions, and structures while indicating materials and manufacturing procedures
- Ability to convert written and verbal information into 2-dimensional drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to visualize designs in both 2D and 3D
