Job Summary
Mechanical Department Manager leading the Houston-based department in the Gulf Coast region. Responsibilities include direct supervision and development of the engineering team, project management and execution, technical support and customer relationship development, staffing and performance reviews, development of engineering proposals and scopes of work, maintaining technical standards, and ensuring Quality Management System compliance. The role involves hands-on design and calculations (P&IDs, piping design), use of AutoCAD and MS Project, interfacing with clients and other offices, and leadership in a fast-paced engineering environment with long- and short-term project planning. Salary up to $150K/year with full benefits; requires PE license in Texas and 8+ years of relevant experience; travel to client sites may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer license in the state of Texas
- 8 years of experience in oil & gas/refining/chemical or heavy industrial engineering
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to commute to client sites in Houston; occasional travel to other offices
