Job Summary
Design and validate production automation tools, test stands, and calibration equipment for electronics manufacturing, including embedded electronics, pneumatics, and software. Maintain and repair current test fixtures while identifying process improvements and developing solutions for manufacturing efficiency. Create test procedures, checklists, and technical documentation for product requirements and build directions. Support new product development by integrating devices into production, managing feasibility studies, and assisting with pre-production runs and SOPs. Collaborate with the new product design team to enhance manufacturability and participate in weekly project updates.
Required Qualifications
- Technologist Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic or related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design, fabrication, testing and validation
- Mechanical design using 3D CAD software
- Solid communication, both written and oral, and the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of peers and audiences
- Ability to work effectively in a research environment using critical thinking skills and be decisive while working cooperatively with others
- Proficiency with standard software such as Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods
- Ability to physically move around the office, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials
- Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data entry tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment
- Onsite location in Vernon, British Columbia Canada
- Monday – Friday work schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Solid understanding of PCB electronics design and manufacturing processes
- Altium Designer experience
- Solid understanding of software development fundamentals and experience with at least one common programming language such as C/C++, Python, LabView or Java
