Mechanical Design Engineer II

Job Summary
Design elastomeric components and metal structures using industry standards and CAD software, then run and interpret finite element analysis to verify structural and thermal performance. Translate concepts into 3D or 2D drawings, generate input for design bases and reports, and review materials for accuracy and producibility. Manage engineering project teams and partner with operations, manufacturing, quality, and project management while interfacing with customers and vendors. Requires a Master's or BS in Mechanical Engineering with 2–8 years of experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FEA, plus 5–10% international travel.
Required Qualifications
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
- at least 2 year of direct experience
- at least 3 years of direct experience
- at least 8 years of direct experience without a degree
- Demonstrated proficiency as a detail component/structural design engineer
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer-aided-engineering /design software
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD
- Demonstrated proficiency performing structural analysis with FEA
- SIMULIA Abaqus
- Proficient in the usage of GD&T notation and application
- 5% to 10% travel required, including international travel
- US Citizenship
- Dual Citizenship (US citizenship and citizenship of some other country) cannot be accepted
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency performing structural analysis with FEA, SIMULIA Abaqus preferred
- Familiarity of designing and analysis with elastomeric materials a plus
- Demonstrated programming and data analysis skills a plus
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detail-focused and results-oriented attitude with a sense of urgency
- Handle multiple tasks at one time
- Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
