Mechanical Design Engineer II

Job Summary
Design elastomeric components and metal structures using industry standards and fundamental structural practices. Run and interpret finite element analysis results to verify thermal and structural performance, then translate concepts into 3D or 2D CAD drawings. Generate input and review drawings for technical accuracy and producibility while assembling design bases, reports, test plans, and material specifications. Partner with operations, manufacturing, quality, and project management teams, interfacing with customers and vendors as needed. Manage engineering project teams and lead design/analysis processes. Requires a Master's or BS in Mechanical Engineering with 2–8 years of experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FEA, and 5–10% travel including international trips.
Required Qualifications
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with at least 2 year of direct experience
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with at least 3 years of direct experience
- at least 8 years of direct experience without a degree
- Demonstrated proficiency as a detail component/structural design engineer
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer-aided-engineering /design software, including SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Demonstrated proficiency performing structural analysis with FEA, SIMULIA Abaqus preferred
- Proficient in the usage of GD&T notation and application
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detail-focused and results-oriented attitude with a sense of urgency
- Handle multiple tasks at one time
- Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
- 5% to 10% travel required, including international travel
- Lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally
- US Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity of designing and analysis with elastomeric materials a plus
- Demonstrated programming and data analysis skills a plus
