Job Summary
Develop SolidWorks CAD models, perform FEA analysis, and execute tolerance stack-up studies for spacecraft structures and assemblies. Define assembly sequences, manage wire harness routing and documentation, and participate in qualification campaigns correlating analysis with test data. Apply Design for Manufacturability principles and coordinate with vendors for manufacturing, inspection, and delivery of flight hardware. Generate engineering documentation for design reviews and manage procurement activities to ensure timely part delivery. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3–5 years of aerospace structural design experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks and FEA tools is essential, along with exposure to composites and high-temperature materials. Willingness to work extended hours and weekends is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in aerospace structural design and integration
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD
- Proficiency in FEA modelling (structural, modal, vibration)
- Experience with tolerance stack-up
- Exposure to composites, sandwich panels, and high-temperature materials
- Familiarity with wire harness integration and CAD-based routing tools
- Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with spacecraft integration and environmental testing
- Experience with harness brackets, supports, and strain relief design
- Experience correlating FEA results with qualification test data
- Ability to own sub assemblies end-to-end
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
