Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer I responsible for developing and documenting basic mechanical designs in a cross-functional engineering team. Prepares product design data including detailed drawings, assembly drawings, wire diagrams, and installation drawings; analyzes specifications and manufacturing capabilities; conducts design and test analyses; coordinates with customers, engineers, and drafters; supports technical proposals and documentation; contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and standardization efforts; collaborates with manufacturing, sales, customer service, and quality to ensure design conformance and successful product integration for high-performance electro-mechanical systems and components used in aircraft entertainment, navigation, and communications systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field of study, no experience required
- Conversational English a plus
- Familiarity with regulatory certification requirements for aircraft mechanical structures and avionics systems is a plus
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Skills in the use of 2D and/or 3D design software
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics
